An oil painting with texture, featuring broad brush strokes as a vertical work of art. It depicts a majestic and historic European concert hall adorned with gilded architectural embellishments, a grand crystal chandelier, and vacant red velvet seats. In the foreground, a music stand with open cello sheet music rests slightly forward. To the right, a violin and bow are propped against a velvet chair. In the background, a grand piano and other instruments are partially visible. This is a generic classical music image reflecting the atmosphere of symphonic music and instrumental virtuosity.

Beethoven - Rachmaninov

Beethoven & Rachmaninov

About the Event

The Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra, within the scope of its April programme, presents a special selection from the works of two giants of classical music literature: Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Rachmaninov. The concert aims to bring together the most characteristic sounds of the transition from the classical to the romantic period and the late romantic era on the same stage.

In the first part of the programme, Beethoven's structural perfection and dramatic depth are highlighted, while in the second part, there are compositions by Rachmaninov characterised by high emotional intensity, broad orchestration, and requiring virtuosity. This performance, taking place in the acoustic atmosphere of the Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Centre, is a part of Bursa's symphonic continuity in its cultural life. The concert will be conducted by Maestro İbrahim Yazıcı.
